A bit about me…

I am an award-winning professional landscape photographer, based in Suffolk, England and best known for my atmospheric images of East Anglia.

The joy of landscape photography is in the moment. Being a part of nature and witnessing its wonders. The fleeting moments of light that make the heart beat a little faster. The thrill of watching the first light of the day creep over the frozen stillness of a wintry landscape, while the air and my fingers tingle with the cold. The challenge lies in capturing the atmosphere of moments like these in a photograph.

PROFILE

I have lived in East Anglia all of my life so naturally the area where I feel the strongest connection has been the biggest influence on my work. Photographing the gentle, atmospheric landscapes of Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex was the sole focus of my photography for many years but I am fortunate that my photography has also taken me to many parts of the British Isles and around the world. This has given me the opportunity to photograph some amazing landscapes and work on fascinating projects for clients from the National Trust to NEOM. The resulting images have been widely published, appearing on everything from book covers to jam jars (you can see some examples here).

As an experienced photography tutor I have been helping others to improve their photography for over ten years. Today, I provide both 1-2-1 tuition and run landscape photography workshops here in East Anglia, around the UK and to stunning locations around the world from the glaciers of Iceland to the deserts of Namibia. I also organise photography workshops for the National Trust, Forestry Commission and Royal Photographic Society.

Some of my achievements are listed below but one I am particularly proud of is receiving a Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society in 2023 for a panel of images of the Essex coast, the local landscape that first inspired me.

    • Know and follow rules and regulations

    • Always follow Leave No Trace principles and strive to leave places better than you found them

    • Actively promote and educate others about these principles
